Paris played college basketball at The College of Wooster, Ohio, 1992-1996, where he was captain for his junior and senior seasons while also being a two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection.
Was head coach of Chattanooga 2017-2022. Is currently the head coach of the University of South Carolina.
