Cherokee heritage & adopted Dakota (Zephier family Ihunktowan Band of the Yankton Sioux Nation of South Dakota), is an internationally known recording artist and performer of music featuring the Native American flute. The highlights of Doug’s career include winning eleven national music awards including five Indian Summer Music Awards in the categories of “Best Native American Flute” and “Best Contemporary Instrumental”, four Native American Music Awards in the categories of “Flutist of the Year” and “Best New Age”, the Global Music Awards, and the Visionary Music Awards. In total, Douglas has received over 60 various award nominations and has been a voting member of the Grammys in the Producers & Engineers Wing since 2007. Grew up in Findlay and attended the University of Findlay.
