Born in Findlay but family later moved to Battle Creek Michigan in 1963. Attended Michigan State University was drafted in the 8th round of the 1971 NFL Draft (187th overall pick) by the Denver Broncos and later played for the Buffalo Bills in 1972 with OJ Simpson.
